Dason flies solo.. literally!

Dason said this summer's six week visit to Utah was a little better than last year relaying it consisted of babysitting, manual labor (cleaning up construction site debris), and time with grandparents. His favorite part was being with Grandpa Tom and taking flying lessons. The idea of my baby doing this makes me worry so much, but I know this is a wonderful opportunity most people don't have.

Dason comes from a long line of pilots. His Great Grandpa Ralph Woodhouse was an early aviator and friends with Amelia Earhart. His biography is on the shelves somewhere in the hallowed BYU library. Now that Dason is continuing the legacy the local newspaper ran an article about it. The following is an excerpt from the Daily Herald:

"A fourth generation of pilots is carrying on a legacy of flying. Dason Thomas Woodhouse and Devin M. Johnson, recently took to the skies on their own. Both are only 16 years old and Dason hasn't even received his driver's license yet.

They took their solo flights after receiving many hours of flight instruction from Dason's grandpa, Tom Woodhouse and Devin's grandpa, Rex Woodhouse and their uncle, Allen Woodhouse. Dason and Devin's great-grandfather Thomas Ralph Woodhouse began flying in 1936 and passed on a legacy to his sons; Ralph Jr., Tom, Allen, and Rex, who have now had the pleasure of sharing this longtime passion with their grandsons. Scera Park

After our trip to California we drove back to Orem and spent the last two days with Gary, Jen, Kya & Brennon. For the last hurrah we got them McFlurries and took them to play at Scera Park.

Kya has Sydney in a head lock.

Spencer is under Gary & Kya's worried trying to get everyone off of him.

Playground time!

Sydney & Me

Even though I was really homesick and ready to be home it was really hard leaving Jen & Gary. A couple more days with them would've been perfect! We did so much with them (yep there's even more I didn't post about) & had a blast! Since Gary didn't have the summer off like the kids and I did, Jen took over entertaining us. Thanks Jen you rock!

Thank you so much for putting up with us! I know it was a lot of people under one roof and we are so grateful for your hospitality! Don't forget you can "impose" on us ANY TIME! We love you!

Goodbye California

My friend we stayed with in Sacramento was my best friend here in Florida. She is quirky, fun, and amazing! In the short time I've known her she's made me a better person and I owe her so much! I miss you Jennie!

The wind beneath my wings.. hee hee

Sydney and my friend's oldest daughter who is amazing too!

I just love this pic.

The view from her house. You can see the haze from the wildfires. She says she prefers this over living through another hurricane season in Florida.
