June 22, 2009 Lunch with Nana

The kids loved going to eat with Nana at the COB. It took me a while to figure out that COB stood for Church Office Building. It's been a while since we've lived in Utah and been around LDS lingo. :)

His sandwich was huge. He loved loading it up and having it weighed to get the price.

Other than spending time with Nana, the best part of lunch at the COB was putting the trays in the moving carousel when they were done eating. (I will post the carousel movie/pics when I find which hard drive they are on).

They couldn't resist playing in the reflection pool on the way back.

Smile so Mom can get a pic!

June 21, 2009

Rick's best friend recently moved from Colorado to take over as District Manager for the Utah stores.

Dave in front of his new office.

I was hoping this would get Rick to visit Utah with the kids and me more often. Instead, Rick has been visiting Utah without me. Yes, you read that right.. without me! They go on survival-esque photography trips. I must say I am glad someone shares Rick's enthusiasm for pictures that don't have people as subjects. :)

June 20, 2009 Freak Accident

Spencer was reaching up, getting a glass out of Nana's cupboard, when the most bizarre thing happened. The second the glass cup touched his hand it broke into shards slicing his face as it came down.

These pictures were after I picked the pieces out of his skin with tweezers (I pulled the bigger pieces out of his neck). Then I put neosporin on the cuts. I felt so bad for him.

You can still see the tears. I am grateful the cuts weren't deeper and didn't scar.

June 20, 2009 Lehi Pool

At the last minute, Nana and I decided to take the kids to the Lehi pool. We didn't give Gary and Jen enough notice or they would've gone too. They took us there a few years ago, and now the kids beg to go. Indoor pools are a rarity in Florida.

This sign made me laugh.

Back to Summer Road Trip - June 19, 2009

My mom wanted to show the kids around some of her favorite areas near her apartment in Salt Lake City. She thought the kids would enjoy seeing the Capitol and walking around the surrounding park. I'll let the pictures (and former video) tell the rest of the story.
