Visiting Jackie - Road Trip 09

We couldn't go to Orem and not visit Jackie Vargas Brinkerhoff (my former partner in crime). I love it because no matter how long it's been since we've talked we always pick up right where we've left off.

Jackie and I bonded while working at Carousel Ice Cream Parlor during our senior year of high school. We moved into our first apartment together at Roman Gardens. Almost every weekend we went dancing. As a matter of fact, we were at the Palace one night and I pointed out a really cute blonde guy. To my dismay he walked over and asked her to dance. She's been married to Jason for over 20 years now... I guess I'm over it. :D

The kids enjoyed swimming, sliding, and diving in their pool.

Enjoying Otterpops in the pool... does it get any better than this?

Where's Waldo?

Jackie showing me how to fix a rice dessert. What's up with all my friends being good cooks?

Jackie & Haley

Jack took us to her business Clear Health, showed us around and let us get tested. It was pretty cool.

When we got back and the kids jumped on the trampoline and

played Four Square with Braydon.

When it got late it was time for us to leave and get our goodbye pictures. We got the giggles when we realized the photos made us look like partners in a Christmas card pose.

The dog jumping in the picture put us in hysterics.

Just putting this post together has me missing her already!

Visiting Kendra Road Trip 09

Kendra Kofford Blinzinger is another dear friend from my high school days who I hadn't seen in years. We were reunited thanks to facebook. It just so happened she'd moved back to Orem just a block from Nana. So, while we were in town the kids and I spent the day with her.

Kendra let them take her dogs to the park to play catch. Even though they were a little nervous with how big her dogs were and how slobbery the ball got, they thought it was really cool.

Walking to the park with the dogs.

In action.

The kids had the camera for these next pictures.

Kendra invited us to stay for dinner and she made pizza from scratch. I mean really from scratch.. she even grinded the wheat into flower for the dough. It was so impressive I had to get pictures.

Her smile at the end makes me smile.

She even rolled cheese in the crust!

It was so yummy!!!

Kendra was such a sport and played Sorry with the kids.

We so enjoyed overstaying our welcome that about a week later when I asked the kids who they wanted to spend the 4th of July with, in unison they yelled, "Kendra!"
