Logan, Utah

When we were in Orem watching the parade Brian and Stephanie invited us to spend a couple days in Logan with them. The first night we got there Brian took us to a beautiful park in the canyon.

Kylie and Sydney

"Do we dare?" The water was freezing because it was recently melted snow from the mountain.

She was freezing, but was determined to make it as far out as she could handle.

Not to be outdone by his sister, Spencer had to give it a try.

Spencer playing soccer. Tevan got a game going on the volleyball court. This is one of his favorite parks to play at.

Time to play in the sand. This is one of Spencer's favorite things to do.

Tevan decided to join him.

Sydney and Kylie working on their creation.

Spencer climbed in this tree and told me to take a picture. We ended up with a lot of pictures this summer of him hanging from things. He's my little monkey alright.

More Fun With Gary & Jen

Jump On It

Sydney & Spencer love Jump On It. They have lots of trampolines connected and you jump to your hearts content for an hourly fee.

Finally Jen gets in a pic with Spencer, Kya, and Syd.

Sydney doing a flip. She misses being in gymnastics.

Taking a break. It's hard work having fun.

Gary and Brennon jumped too.

These tramps were angled off the wall so you could run jump and do flips. Spencer's hanging on by a "spring". hee hee They had a blast and, yes, Jen has a ton more pics and better captions on her blog.

Kangaroo Bounce House

This is Kya's favorite jumping place. It has tons of bounce houses and inflatable slides. They had a lot of fun running around, flying down slides, racing through obstacle courses, and jumping in the houses here.

Thanksgiving Point Dinosaur Museum

They are terrified of white dinosaur! Ahhhhh! Too scared to move!

Spencer & Sydney in front of a Utah Raptor. I didn't even know that's why Jen took this pic until I saw her blog. I swear I went to the museum too. :)

The kids pile on the scale and try to get it to register as heavy as a dinosaur. The T-Rex has them beat by a couple pounds.

Jen says they don't look very scared when they are seconds from being devoured.

Their 1st Dig

Future paleontologists at work.

Spencer showing Brennon how to play in the sand.

Spencer being Spencer

Now he wants to be buried. Jen has a video clip of Kya obliging.

Sand was in his hair for weeks after this day. I wonder why.

Erosion Table

"I asked Sydney & Spencer what they were making here and Spencer said, "A mountain of mud" all matter of factly. LOL I should've known!" Quoted from Jen's blog.

Mountain of mud gets finishing touches.

Tile Board

The kids are doing their part on the tile board in the background. They have little tiles and a coordinating number, so you can draw what is on the tile add it to the coordinating square on the board and all the kids pictures that get drawn for the day make one huge picture. (Caption lifted from Jen's blog).

Sydney's picture looked exactly like the tile and Spencer went freestyle drawing a dinosaur.

Dinosaur Fossils

Spencer chose a Shark tooth, Sydney a Trilobite, and Kya a Raptor Claw.

Pouring the molds.

The finished product and Brennon having a Where's Waldo moment.

I was beyond ready to go home and couldn't understand why my sister in-law Jen had to take a pic of them next to the building. Aha! Now I get it. It gives us a perspective of how big they are compared to a dinosaur. I love this pic! Thanks Jen!

BTW A lot of these pics and captions are plagiarized from Jen's blog. If you want to see a pro blogger in action click on "Tidbits of the..." on my side bar. It's private, but she will invite anyone that asks, unless you are a known criminal, but if you said pretty please with sugar on top she might consider even then.

Boys Can't Be Teachers

The other night our family was discussing who the kids might get for teachers this year. They were naming Mrs. this and Miss that. Rick asked Sydney, "What if you get a boy teacher?" Not missing a beat Spencer chimed in, "Dad, boys can't be teachers! Only girls." We explained that there are lots of boy teachers and Dad wished he could be one when he retires.

The next day we went to their school to see whose class they'd be in. Spencer's teacher was listed as "Waterbury, Clair" and Sydney's was listed as "Moss, Steph." The registrar asked who their teachers were. Spencer says Mrs. Waterbury and Sydney says Mrs. Moss, only to be corrected that it is Mr. Moss. I look over and see tears streaming down her face. She was devastated that Stephanie Moss is a Stephen Moss.

We walked to the room to meet him. He is young, outgoing, and kind, but still wouldn't talk to him. I have her look around to see if she recognizes any names on the desks. She found two friends from last year. Then we overhear a Mom whose daughter had him last year telling Mr. Moss how upset she is because their other child didn't get him. At that point Sydney finally realizes -- it just might be okay that her teacher has boy parts.
