Great Grandma

I really want my children to have memories of my Grandma because she is the closest link I have to my dad who died when I was five. Because of how far we live from her this is only the third time they've seen her. We spent a day and a half just listening and talking to her. The kids were really patient. They explored, bought ice cream from ice cream truck, played their ds, helped me clean, played on my computer, and talked with grandma.

Chillin' at Grandma's

Tweety Bird & Spongebob had eyes of bubble gum. The kids made me take a pic of the back too.

Spencer has a history of being scared of my Grandma. He is used to grandparents my mom's age and younger. So when she came to the door Spencer took off running and hid. Rick had to track him down and no matter what we told him he refused to come in the house. She was sweet and gave Sydney and him stuffed animals and anything they found. Eventually he was okay being there but still wouldn't give her a hug goodbye that visit.

This visit he didn't run away, but fussed at first about going in. When we were taking pictures he refused to go near her. Finally I got him to sit by Sydney and had to let him do a silly picture to get him to smile. When we left he wouldn't hug her goodbye, but she did get him to give her a high-five.

Sydney is always sweet in these situations.

You are so good to take your kids and have them have a relationship with grandma. Those pictures are priceless. The last picture with Sydney and Grandma is adorable!!!
